Amanda L. Thompson
Amanda L. Thompson is an senior associate attorney with over sixteen years of experience representing employees in discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, disability accommodation, wage and hour, and PAGA matters in state and federal court. She has handled all phases of litigation — from law and motion practice and depositions through dispositive motions and trial.
Prior to joining Shegerian & Associates, Amanda built her litigation career from the ground up, operating her own employment law practice in San Diego for nearly a decade and handling cases from intake through trial. She went on to litigate individual employment claims and wage and hour class actions at plaintiff-side firms across California. Her earlier experience in insurance defense gives her a practical understanding of how the other side builds its cases — and how to counter it.
Amanda's commitment to employee advocacy is rooted in her academic background in psychology and social psychology, where she studied prejudice and discrimination. Before law school, she worked as a paralegal for the monitor of the federal consent decree in Pigford v. Glickman — one of the largest race discrimination cases in U.S. history — involving claims against the United States Department of Agriculture. That work shaped her dedication to standing up for people subjected to unfair treatment.
