Sandra Acosta is an Associate Attorney with Shegerian & Associates’ Santa Monica office. Prior to joining Shegerian & Associates, Sandra participated in the Project for the Innocent in which she advocated for clients that have been wrongfully convicted. She also volunteered at the California Appellate Project working on habeas cases for clients on Death Row.

Ms. Acosta received her law degree from Loyola Law School of Los Angeles, where she was a member of the Loyola of Los Angeles International Law Review. During law school, she served as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Harvey Silberman, Judge of the Pasadena Superior Court.

Prior to law school, Ms. Acosta participated in the Center for Comparative Immigration Studies at the University of California, San Diego where she did a case study on the migrant patterns of a Mexican town and published her results alongside her team of field researchers.
